Doctorate-level acupuncture physician, master herbalist, and developer of the Harmonize System™ — serving MetroWest Orlando and Central Florida since 2012.
Dr. Purohit holds a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) from Five Branches University — one of the most prestigious TCM doctoral programs in the country — with a curriculum that emphasizes integrating Eastern medicine with Western clinical practice. He graduated cum laude from Tulane University with a BS in Psychology, and earned his Master in Public Health (MPH) in Health Systems Management from the Tulane School of Public Health, where his deep interest in Chinese Medicine solidified.
He began medical school at LSU Medical School pursuing his MD before leaving to dedicate himself fully to Chinese Medicine — a decision driven by his growing conviction that integrative, whole-person medicine could achieve what conventional medicine often cannot. He graduated with honors from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine, passed all NCCAOM national board exams, and has spent his career treating the complex, chronic conditions that other practitioners give up on.
After years in clinical practice, Dr. Purohit recognized a consistent problem — patients were being given generic herbal protocols when their conditions required something far more individualized. He developed the Harmonize System as a structured, organized framework for prescribing Chinese herbs with greater precision and adaptability.
The result is a herbal prescribing protocol that is both deeply rooted in classical TCM theory and organized for modern clinical efficiency. Every patient receives a formula that is truly their own — based on their unique pulse readings, tongue diagnosis, symptom presentation, and health history. No two formulas are the same because no two patients are the same.
Dr. Purohit is a General Practitioner specializing in Pain Management, Gut & Digestive Disorders, Mental-Emotional Health, and Veterans Integrative Care. His approach begins with listening — really listening — to what a patient has experienced, what has been tried, and what has failed. This thorough intake is what allows him to identify patterns that other practitioners miss.
"We treat what others miss" is not a marketing phrase at Spectrum WellCare. It reflects Dr. Purohit's daily clinical reality — patients who arrive after years of frustration, finally finding a practitioner who takes the time to understand their full picture and design a treatment plan specifically for them.
