What to realistically expect
Chronic pain plans vary by diagnosis, duration, medical history, goals and response. Dr. Purohit recommends a personalized starting plan after evaluation and reassesses progress rather than promising improvement within a fixed number of visits.
When appropriate, acupuncture may be combined with a personalized Chinese herbal medicine plan. Herbal products require review of medications, medical history and possible interactions and do not guarantee a faster result.
For patients with nerve involvement — sciatica, neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome — MPS (Microcurrent Point Stimulation) therapy is added to directly target the nerve pathways driving pain.
The patients who respond best
Patients with overlapping concerns such as pain, sleep disruption, digestive symptoms or stress may benefit from an evaluation that considers the full health history. Acupuncture is complementary care and should remain coordinated with the patient's medical providers.
If your pain has not improved, contact our office to discuss whether an acupuncture evaluation may be appropriate. Individual results vary, and no outcome can be promised.
